Frequently Asked Questions
Some useful commands you can use in chat include the following:
• !r (Go to start of map)
• !rs (Go to start of current stage)
• !b (Access the map's bonus, add the number afterwards to specify which bonus)
• !hide (Hide all other players on the server)
• !rank (See your rank on the current map)
• !top (See the top times on the current map)
• !points (See the top players on the server)
You can also bind any command to a key in console by replacing the ! with css_, for example, in your console:
bind mouse3 css_r
would bind restart to mouse3!
Practice is key! Focus on maintaining speed, learning air control, and mastering the timing of your jumps. Watch demos of skilled players and participate in community events to get feedback from experienced surfers.
Yes, there are ranks on the server that will be displayed next to your name at all times. Your rank comes from the amount of points you have, and you get more points simply by completing more maps. Better times on popular maps, and higher tier maps will award more points. The ranks are as follows:
Rank 1: Godly
Rank 2: King
Rank 3: Legendary
Rank 4-10: Master
Rank 11-25: Elite
Rank 26-50: Veteran
Rank 51-100: Pro
Rank 101-200: Expert
Rank 201-350: Ace
Rank 351-500: Hotshot
Rank 501-750: Adept
Rank 751-1000: Experienced
Rank 1001-1500: Skilled
Rank 1501-2500: Potential
Rank 2501-3500: Regular
Rank 3501-5000: Casual
Rank 5001-7000: Novice
Rank 7001-9000: Beginner
Rank <11000: Rookie
Don't worry, you didn't actually lose any real points!
Our system gives fixed points for each rank (e.g., rank 1 = 250 points, rank 9 = 100). If you improve your time from rank 9 to rank 1, you temporarily get all the new points instead of just the difference between your old time and new time. This can make you seem like you have extra points.
Periodic refreshes correct this by making sure that everyone only has the points from their BEST time on any given map. In the future, you'll only gain the difference when improving, and updates will happen in the background, so you'll never notice a jump in points.
Short answer: blame Valve, and use !hide ingame to improve your FPS.
Because of the ramp bugs that Valve introduced in CS2, we have to run a special plugin on the server to fix these for people. The plugin does very intensive calculations, on every frame, for every player. With lots of players online, this is incredibly taxing, so you might see some reduced performance during peak times. Consider moving over to our Hard Surf server when this happens!
